Helpful Tips For Your Hearing Aids

Here are some helpful tips that will ensure you get the most out of your devices.
  • Avoid moisture and store in a dry place. Removing your Hearing Aids before getting into the shower or going swimming is very important. Remember to keep your Hearing Aids out of the bathroom whilst showering this will help to keep moisture and condensation away from your Hearing Aids, which will stop your electronics getting damaged in your Hearing Aid.
  • Change your Hearing Aid Batteries often. Batteries are one of the most important things when it comes to Hearing Aids. Hearing Aids need a steady source of power from a quality Hearing Aid Battery in order to run effectively and properly. A low battery or defective battery can significantly impair the performance of your Hearing Aid.
  • Keep devices free of earwax. Earwax is one of the leading causes of decreased performance in Hearing Aids. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to avoid having your devices come in contact with earwax. That’s why it’s important to take time and clean them frequently.
  • Change your wax filter as often as you need to. Some people have to change the wax guards on an almost monthly basis. Some people can get months out of a wax guard. It really depends on the amount of ear wax in your ear canal. Which is relatively different from person to person.
  • Always handle with care. If by accident you drop your Hearing Aid. It is best to get in touch with your Audiologists as trying to make repairs yourself can lead to more damage occurring.
  • Schedule routine cleanings. This is important to keep your Hearing Aid in tip top condition.
